The Hermitage of Santa Maria Maddalena (St. Mary Magdalene) is a historic mansion that is rented exclusively for events or weekly stay in self catering. The complex, that was once a Benedictine monastery, is located on a hill not far from the village of Monterosso, in the heart of the wonderful Cinque Terre.
The Mansion includes a church to the north and a monastery to the south, which are united by a small cloister, the arches of which are supported by slender brick columns. The original monks' cells of the monastery are now transformed in residential accommodation. In the monastery, built on 3 levels, the original monks cells are now transformed in residential accommodation.
The Hermitage of Santa Maria Maddalena is divided into two separate wings that are united by internal covered courtyard . Upon entering the main wing of the house there is a small living room with a fireplace that leads into the large and fully equipped country style kitchen. To the right there is a bedroom with a queen size bed and a bathroom. Downstairs there is a very large living room where all people may comfortably reunite in front of the large fireplace a dining room and two small bedrooms with bathroom.
A stairway leads up to the first floor where there are two bedrooms with private bathroom, a spacious living area and dining room overlooking the gardens and the enchanting landscape of the Cinque Terre. In the olive tree strewn gardens next to the Hermitage of Saint Mary Magdalene, there is a magnificent swimming pool, from where to enjoy stunning views out towards the sea.
