Itinerary: Cervinia, Plateau Rosa, Matterhorn
Summer ski resorts in Italy: Cervinia and the Plateau Rosa
Breuil-Cervinia (usually known as Cervinia) is a popular mountain destination in Italy, located at the foot of Matterhorn (Monte Cervino) in Valle d'Aosta, right on the border between Italy and Switzerland.
Here, as well as on the beautiful Theodul Glacier (Plateau Rosa), people do not have to wait for winter to ski or to enjoy some winter sports activities. In fact, this ski area, which extends 3480 meters above sea level, has always been a great place for summer skiing lovers, who can usually ski here from late June to early September.
Every summer, thousands of ski, snowboard and freestyle enthusiasts have the chance to enjoy great views, a warm sun and more than 26 kilometers of slopes served by modern ski lifts and covered in white snow, which is always in perfect conditions thanks to the slopes' exposure.
The ski area includes many kilometers of slopes in the area of Zermatt, in Switzerland, where people can ski on the highest slopes in Europe (3900 meters above sea level). If you are a snowboarder or a freestyler, a big snow park (called IndianPark) is waiting for you!
You can also get to Theodul Glacier and just enjoy the impressive and awe-inspiring views of the surroundings: the Matterhorn and Mont Blanc, Gran Paradiso and Monte Rosa, the whole Aosta Valley and the Canton of Valais, in Switzerland. Beautiful landscapes that will leave you with lots of good memories!
The village of Cervinia is a very nice place where to spend your holiday both in winter and in summer since it offers many activities such as snow biking, snowmobiling, heli-skiing, kitesurfing, or trekking along the valley. Otherwise, you can also spend some time in a spa or enjoy the lively nightlife. A 360-degrees holiday!
