Val Veny (Veny Valley) (pic n°6), is an Alpine valley located in the Aosta Valley area, very close to Courmayeur, one of the most popular and lively ski resorts of the region. For those who would like to discover more about the great Mont Blanc or the beautiful Brenva Glacier (pic n°4), this tour is the perfect choice that will fascinate everyone because of the beautiful, breathtaking sceneries you will enjoy.
Val Veny, which is divided into three main areas, is likely to be the wildest and most intact area of the region, and this is why it is so attractive for nature lovers. At the beginning of the valley, dominated by the beautiful nineteenth-century Notre-Dame de Guérison Sanctuary (pic n°3) and by the lower part of Brenva Glacier, you will find wide meadows crossed by Dora Baltea, a 170 kilometers long mountain river. This area is extremely peaceful, a real invitation to hike or relax. When hiking towards the glacier, there are several natural beauties that will attract you.
Spend some time at Lake Miage, a small lake, famous for the phenomenon of the detachment of the ice from the lake cliff. You can also stop at Lake Checrouit (pic n°2), a beautiful lake that is a perfect vantage point to admire the impressive massif of Mont Blanc, which mirrors the pristine waters of the lake.
This valley has another must: Lex Blanche Glacier (pic n°1), with its highest altitude of 3910 meters and surrounded by imposing and breathtaking peaks such as Aiguilles de Trélatête (3920 meters), Aiguilles des Glaciers (3816 meters), Aiguille of Lex Blanche (3686 meters), and the Petit Mont Blanc (3424 meters).
Other things to see are the impressive Limestone Pyramids in Col de Seigne (which marks the border between Italy and France), Combal Lake, Bellecombe Valley, and the Grand Col Ferret (a mountain pass over 2500 meters above sea level).
Some 'rifugi' (mountain shelters), such as Elena or Elisabetta, are beautiful places where to stop and relax a bit while being surrounded by an amazing all-around view. Van Veny is a perfect destination for mountain goers, who want to enjoy a special day while hiking and discovering amazing natural treasures!
