Campitello Matese is the most well-known ski resort in region Molise, South Italy, and it is an important destination for all ski and mountain lovers of the area, thanks to its 40 kilometers of slopes.
Campitello Matese is located in the municipality of San Massimo, right at the foot of Massiccio del Matese. The ski area has four chair lifts, one of these reaches Col Caprio, the highest point of the ski district, plus three ski lifts that serve some slopes for downhill skiing though they are not very long. Two ski slopes, Del Caprio and Cristallo, are the favorite ones among skiers.
The slopes extend between 1,450 and 1,900 meters above sea level and run for about 40 kilometers, ranging from easy to high difficulties, so that skiers and snowboarders of all levels can find the best slopes.
The different slopes are used for various winter activities, including Nordic and cross-country skiing. In fact, the Nordic skiers will be happy to find three different cross-country skiing slopes that run throughout Gola di Capo d'Acqua.
Freestyle enthusiasts will be satisfied as well. They can have fun on moguls, off-piste trails nestled in the woods, and in Ghost Snowpark. The latter is divided into 3 areas: the school for beginners with an easy-to-use trail, the intermediate level and the advanced one, dedicated to the more experienced freestylers.
