Calabria is in the south of Italy and serves as the toe of the Italian "boot". Despite it offers a beautiful hinterland, characterized by a vivid color unspoiled nature, blue lakes and the beautiful mountain landscapes of the Aspromonte.

People mainly visit Calabria for its crystal-clear sea waters and its beautiful beaches. A very long and breathtaking coast is kissed by the Ionian and the Tyrrhenian Seas: both rocky and sandy beaches that can satisfy every need are the treasures of many coastal towns, such as Pizzo capo Vaticano, Tropea, Scilla, Corigliano or the impressive Island of Capo Rizzuto, just to name a few.

Nevertheless, Calabria is not sea life only: as the cradle of ancient Magna Grecia, this region has a lot to offer to history, culture and art lovers as well; speaking about it, do not miss a visit to the mythical Riace Bronzes in the National Museum of Reggio Calabria!

Other artistic ages intertwine in this region, giving birth to interesting archeological sites along the coast, great castles of different styles, and amazing religious building, especially in the city of Cosenza, known as "the Athens of Calabria".

Food & Wine: Calabria stands out for a good variety of cheeses, meats and cold cuts or sausages, especially the famous super-spicy n'duja, spread on bread or used as a pasta sauce. There is also a good array of kinds of pasta, fish-based dishes and local fruits and vegetables, such as the exquisite red onion from Tropea.

Calabria is also a producer of many liquors, especially based on bergamot, liquorice and herbs.
