The Marches are a stripe of land that stretches on the central-eastern side of Italy; a range of hills nestled between the Apennines and the Adriatic Sea. Like many other regions in Italy, Marche is a great place for nature lovers, thanks to its beautiful national parks or reserves.

Riviera del Conero is an amazing coastline that offer visitors beautiful views and uncontaminated beaches and coves. Some coastal towns, such as Senigallia, Gabicce Mare, San Benedetto del Tronto, Fano or Civitanova Marche, are great places where to relax on golden and well-equipped beaches, or to stroll down their charming and lively streets.

The mountain side has a lot to offer as well: try a trekking adventure on Monti Sibillini, or pay a visit to Grotte di Frasassi, among the most important and beautiful caves of Italy.

Finally, some important cities: Ancona and its port, known as "the gateway to the East", Fano and its carnival, Urbino with its amazing historical center that is a UNESCO heritage, Ascoli Piceno and its Medieval beauties.

Food & Wine: a mix of different flavors make this region's cuisine unique. Delicious cheeses and cold cuts, such as ciauscolo; mushrooms and truffles, pork- or lamb-based dishes, and a typical pasta from Macerata, called vincisgrassi. Other tasty dishes are brodetto, a fish soup, or cicerchiata, a sweet composed by deep-fried dough and honey. Ascoli Piceno is home to famous olive ascolane (olives stuffed with meat and then fried).
