Apulia acts as "the heel" of boot-shaped Italy, and it is surrounded by the Ionian and the Adriatic Sea. It is a unique region: a beautiful mix of art, culture, tradition, history, and amazing natural beauties. Both sandy and rocky beaches, as well as crystalline sea waters, will make each visitor fall in love, especially in the beautiful areas of Gargano and Salento, with its charming city of Gallipoli.

Natural treasures are scattered all over the region: from forests to marine reserves, from Murgia National Park to the special sinkholes of Altamura. All these mighty expressions of nature live in harmony with human interventions coming from several architectural and cultural ages: don't miss the Baroque treasures of Lecce and the whole Salento area, breathtaking Medieval castles and fortifications, picturesque coastal villages, and the fascinating 'trulli', peculiar rural-tradition houses that can be predominantly admired in Alberobello.

Apulia is also the right destination for religious people, as it boasts some wonderful cathedrals and monasteries.

Food & Wine: apart from a good selection of wines and olive oil, the Apulian cuisine is mostly based on pasta in different shapes (such as famous orecchiette or strascinati) combined with meat, fish or delicious cacioricotta cheese (and other types of cheese as well); in Apulia, you can also taste lots of sweet dishes from the south of Italy. Generally speaking, Apulia is the home of many fruits, vegetables, and herbs that happily and healthily grow under its warm sun!
